Sangha MLA continues meetings with Union Ministers and officials in Delhi

GANGTOK, 06 Aug: Sangha MLA Sonam Lama submitted representations to the Union Minister for Minority Affairs Dr. Najma Heptullah and Union Minister of State (Independent charges) for Environment, S Javedkar, in New Delhi today.
A press release informs that Mr Lama also had the audience of the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Orgyen Trinley Dodrul Dorje at New Delhi and sought his blessings and guidance. The Karmapa expressed gratitude to all the people of Sikkim for having unanimously adopted a resolution to ensure his visit to Sikkim, the release states. He thanked the Sikkim Legislative Assembly and all its esteemed members to this effect.
The Sangha MLA also called upon Chairman of the National Minority Commission, N Ahmed and discussed several issues relating Sikkim. He also met Member of National Minority Commission, Tshering Namgyal Shunoo and officials of North Block Ministry of Home Affairs at New Delhi apart from calling on several national politicians and leaders.
He placed several memorandums to them and received positive assurances on the demands so placed. Mr Lama is currently in New Delhi and is expected to meet more Union Ministers and other leaders this week to update them on various issues pertaining to Sikkim, the release mentions.
